Cayenne GTS rocks! It laps racetracks almost as quick as 911 careera.
Another thing this comparision wasn't that fair since X5 was 50hp less than GTS and 15,000 cheaper. More direct comparision would have been Cayenne S vs X5. Still, if I had change in my back pocket I would've bought fastest Cayenne- which is Turbo S!

well, the jeep grand cherokee is an awesome off roader, but the srt8 isnt your right. neither is the gts. the cayenne turbo/normal cayenne can, but once you upgrade it to being sporty, you lose the off road ability. simple as that.

the standard Porsche is a pretty decent offroader.... it does have the best entry angles in its class and locking diffs.

well im sure if you look around youll find pleny of videos of the Porche cayenne offroading and doing it pretty well to, of course nothing like the normal jeeps or toyotas or mistsubichis but still a good offroader, while the gts might have lost some of the offroad capability the srt8 and the x5 never had any

then compare it to the 5.7L hemi jeep to the standard porsche, almost identical performance figures and HP. But the Jeep stomps the porsche off road. Keep the Comparisons equivelent. SRT8 to the Turbo S. And the standard to the standard. What you have is two closely matched vehicles, except when it comes to the price tag.

the turbo s can offroad a lot better than the srt8 im sorry to tell you, probably the worst porche cayenne offroad is the GTS for the tricks they pulled with the suspension but apart from that cayennes have everything an offroader should have while the srt8 traction is split 95 rear and 5 front and it stays that way so the extra your paying in the turbo s js for better interior and allround quality and actual offroad capabilities

The turbo S has the same suspension as the GTS. In truth the GTS is a step down from the Turbo S. And the turbo S can't off road because you can't fit off road tires to it. Put it on a wet and muddy surface and you go nowhere. Same with the SRT8. But put the 5.7L cherokee in the mud and voalah. The Jeep will win. Thants why you see jeeps in off road racing and not porsches.

true that however if you had to be taking the offroad performance of the 3 the GTS turbo s and SRT8 you would find out that the porches would beat the jeeps but of course then if you look at the non srt jeeps well they will beat the porches but hey its the first offroader porche makes and they made a fairly good job of it, nothing to challange jeeps or so but still a good job

True, I like the porsches. I would rather spend 60K on one of those than on a Range Rover or Merc. Hopefully they will do something about the looks, and then its popularity will soar.

i dont mind the looks of porches but they are not my thing, i like infinitis a lot expecially the new fx50s but all in all if i had to go for one of the high performance luxury SUV's i think i'd go for the HUGE GL500 i just like the way it goes down the road and the sheer size and all that and it doesent look bad either
